icddr,b is a Bangladesh-based international health research institute that strives to solve key public health problems through high-quality scientific research and innovation. icddr,b as a values-based organization encourages women and people with disabilities.
The Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (AdSEARCH) project of icddr,b aims to improve sexual and reproductive health (SRH) outcomes and realise rights among different population groups with distinct SRH needs in Bangladesh. To be implemented by researchers from different divisions of icddr,b, this research project will explore, understand, and assess some key components of SRHR among different population groups who have the highest-burden, distinct needs and vulnerabilities. These groups include adolescents and young adults, newly married couples, pregnant women, neonates and under-five children, women working in the RMG sector and key population for their particular vulnerability and/or marginalisation. The project will be focusing on generating new evidence related to family planning, abortion, post-abortion care, STI/RTIs, and reproductive cancers and maternal and neonatal health.
Position Description:
The Senior Graphic Designer reporting to the Communication Specialist, will be responsible for conceptualizing & designing communications materials, publishing outputs and developing contents for public health/scientific arena with the objective of conducting high-quality research within the guidelines of the research protocol and in alignment with the organizational values and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Major responsibilities will be:
- Conceptualize and design innovative and attractive communications materials like infographics, project brand assets, research briefs, policy briefs, knowledge briefs, and reports for scientific health research for multiple audiences including donors, government agencies, media houses, policymakers, and the mass audience;
- Publish outputs for multiple media including press and digital print (reports, brochures, flyers), digital media (websites, GDN banners, online Ad platforms) and social media content (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter), event collaterals (banners, backdrops, flyers, brochures etc.);
- Work with content team to bring in changes whenever necessary without compromising the projects’ visual identities (logo, mnemonics, brand tone, colour palettes, typography) as per official brand guidelines;
- Study global design trends in science communication for designing innovations and proposals;
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to complete own job to get the output.
Required qualification and experience:
- Master’s in Fine Arts or Masters in any relevant field from any reputed institute with good academic track record;
- 5 years relevant experience;
- Proficient in various operating systems and skilled in using graphic design software;
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

Contract Type and Duration:
- Fixed Term basis; duration will be 1 Year with a possibility of extension subject to availability of fund and performance.
Salary & benefits:
- Annual Tk.9,09,360/- inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances and other admissible benefits
- 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,917/- per child per month, festival allowance, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance, and subsidized canteen. Transport and day-care facilities are subject to space availability.
