Deputy Project Coordinator (Adv#13/2025)

The Alliance for Combating TB in Bangladesh activity is working to establish a dynamic, strategic, and fresh approach to accelerate Bangladesh’s fight against TB. The solutions will be aimed at creating an environment aligned with the universal health coverage (UHC) vision and focused on defined priority areas – increased TB detection, decentralized DR-TB management, improving detection and management of child TB, expanded prevention, engagement of private sector in TB, and others. 

The Deputy Project Coordinator will report to the Chief of Party. The position holder will be responsible for planning and implementing project activities, identifying and mitigating threats and ensuring the highest international standards and working for the project implementation as agreed by the donors. S/he will be involved in–

  • Contribute to creating detailed activity plans covering milestones, deliverables etc.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the project intervention to capture activity performance and results including routine service delivery and monitoring for process and outcome evaluations;
  • Work with the program team to prepare and track the progress of the program and activity budget;
  • Undertake regular monitoring and technical support visits to the field sites to assess progress against the approved plan;
  • Provide technical leadership on all aspects of health systems to improve the quality of TB service delivery in both the public and private health sectors;
  • Lead and design the oversight of interventions which use the WHO Health Systems framework and ACTB’s approach to health systems strengthening to facilitate changes required at all levels;
  • Work with the project team on USAID’s ACTB’s strategy for health systems strengthening using TB as an entry point into the health system at national and sub-national levels;
  • Coordinate and provide health system strengthening technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and NTP;
  • Work closely with the Technical Lead, Chief of Party (COP), Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP), and Sr MEL Advisor to conduct regular project reviews, and final evaluation;
  • Conduct epidemiological analysis to oversee changes in disease trends, identify areas that need attention, and disseminate information for deployment of appropriate interventions;
  • Conduct on-site data verification at public health facilities in the districts, Upazilas (sub-district), and community levels;
  • Supervise data collection, coach staff on how to address issues faced during field-work, monitor quality of data collected, and response rates against timelines and program criteria;
  • Take corrective actions to comply with donor mandates and activity protocols;
  • Develop new systems specially integrating IT and business processes;
  • Create detailed activity design and methodology with a world-class information system to achieve the objectives;
  • Coordinate and undertake regular monitoring and technical support visits to the activity sites and divisional offices to assess progress against the approved plan and assist the Sr MEL Advisor in monitoring program implementation by the partners and ensure that proper progress is being made across all partners;
  • Ensure that donor reports are prepared regularly according to the donor requirements;
  • Liaison with the relevant government and non-government bodies, hospital staff/ collaborators/ partners;
  • Participate in meetings/conferences conducted by government authorities and institutional partners in order to strengthen and effectively implement the research activities as per plan.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Medical graduate with Master's degree in Public Health / Health Administration / Health Economics / Social Sciences or any related field;
  • 10 years of experience in similar organizations / GOB / Public Health programs / or Government’s partner organization.

Contract Type and duration:

Fixed Term Agreement; duration will be 1 year with a possibility of extension subject to availability of fund and performance.

Salary & benefits:

  • Annual Tk. 2,552,900/- inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances and other admissible benefits;
  • 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,917/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
