Programme Assistant (Adv#28/2026)

The Programme on Emerging Infections under the Infectious Disease Division is working to establish a dynamic and strategic approach to support the MBDC unit of DGHS in country’s fight against TB. The solutions will be focused on defined priority areas – increased TB detection, decentralized DR-TB management, improving detection and management of child TB, expanded prevention, private sector engagement in TB, etc. 

The Programme Assistant will report to the Assistant Programme Managers. The position holder will be responsible for coordinating and implementing compliance measures, facilitate audits, and monitor grants and compliances of the sub-recipient. This recruitment is contingent upon receiving funding from the donor. S/he will be involved in–

• Assist in developing programme management plan; support the team and initiate activities as per the project plan, assist in staff training;
• Maintain liaison with Govt. Officials, NTP authority, and relevant stakeholders within the designated area;
• Representing all activities of the project at the assigned district:
• Guide and lead the ACF activities
• Perform DRTB/DSTB CI
• Follow the presumptive/Contacts
• TPT facilitations in coordination with partner NGOs
• Lead the portable X-ray with AI operations and coordinate it with the ACF activities, local authorities, and partner NGOs
• Facilitation of relevant PPM activities, including promoting JANAO
• Other project-related activities assigned by the supervisor
• Supportive supervision to the field staff, visit activity sites, check the working quality of assigned staff, facilitate local-level communication and coordination;
• Maintain the quality of the project activities; assess data quality and address errors, regular data analysis and updates to the Assistant Program Managers, Program Officer, Project Coordinator, and relevant leaders, and seek inputs;
• Coordinate with the monitoring, evaluation, and learning team to support implementation monitoring.

Required qualification and experience:

• Bachelor degree in any discipline.
• 3 years working experience in the field implementation of development programs. Experience with the implementation of TB program activities will be an added advantage. 

Location: Anywhere in Bangladesh.

Number of Position: 30

Contract Type and Duration:

• Short-Term Contractual Service Agreement; duration will be 6 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance. 

Salary & benefits:

• 41,522 Tk/-per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;
• Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
