Project Research Physician with Maternal and Child Nutrition under the Nutrition Research Division (Adv#47/2026)

icddr,b is a Bangladesh-based international health research institute committed to addressing key public health challenges through high-quality research and innovation.

A research project aimed to conduct intervention trials and implementation research with an objective to reduce vulnerabilities relating to maternal, adolescent and childhood malnutrition, morbidity and mortality.

Position Description

The position holder will coordinate and manage administrative and logistical functions of icddr,b Dhaka Hospital operations, ensuring efficient support in line with organizational values and guidelines. The major areas of responsibility include:

• Supervise daily patient screening in hospital settings to identify eligible study participants.
• Ensure enrollment of eligible patients as per criteria.
• Ensure accurate and complete collection of demographic and clinical data from enrolled participants.
• Monitor and report adverse events in a timely manner, including conducting follow-up phone calls as required.
• Conduct regular team meetings to monitor progress against deliverables and timelines.
• Facilitate debriefing sessions to address ethical issues arising during the trial.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly progress reports and work plans aligned with study deliverables.
• Finalize technical reports and study documentation as required.
• Write reports, manuscripts, and research protocols, and present findings at scientific forums.

Required qualifications and experience:

• MBBS degree with valid BMDC registration. Candidates with an MPH degree will get preference;
• Minimum 1 Year working experience in the relevant field.
• Prior experience working in hospital-based research studies is desirable

Location: Mohakhali, Dhaka with extensive field visits.

Contract Type and duration:

Contractual Service Agreement (CSA) basis for 6 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of fund and performance.

Salary & benefits:

• 66,390 /-per month(consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;
• Festival bonus, income tax are paid by icddr,b including subsidized canteen food.
