The Infectious Diseases Division conducts high-quality research and provides technical support to ongoing projects and training programs. It works on a broad range of human and animal infectious diseases, and clinical trials of new therapeutics and vaccines.
A clinical trial has been initiated to assess the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of a subcutaneous influenza drug in adult participants with uncomplicated influenza virus infection.
Position Description:
The Study Physician will report to the Research Investigator and will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct clinical trials following approved study protocols and biosafety standards, including regular follow-up of enrolled cases and monitor outcomes;
- Ensure timely identification and notification of adverse events;
- Obtain informed consent from participants in accordance with ethical guidelines;
- Prepare weekly activity reports and submit them to the supervisor on time. Work with supervisors and team members to develop abstracts, reports, and manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications;
- Participate in data analysis in collaboration with investigators and data teams;
- Actively participate in conducting and monitoring planned data-to-action interventions;
- Identify emerging gaps, trends, and actionable insights from day-to-day clinical activities;
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to adapt protocols based on evolving research needs and field observations;
- Address queries and data correction requests from other components of the clinical trial;
- Supervise and support the Study Nurse, Field Supervisor, and other junior staff to ensure adherence to protocols and quality standards;
- Train newly recruited team members on consent procedures, biological sample collection, result sharing, and field ethics.
Required qualification and experience:
- MBBS degree with valid registration from Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council. A Master's in Public Health is preferable.
- At least 3 years of experience in the field of Infectious Diseases; Candidates with experience in Community-Based Clinical Trial and Surveillance will get preference.
Location: Kamalapur & Mirpur, Dhaka.

Contract Type and Duration:
- Short-Term; duration will be 06 months with a possibility of extension, subject to availability of funds and performance.
Salary & Benefits:
- Tk.96,120/-per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances; Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
