Project Research Physician (Adv#54/2026)

The Infectious Diseases Division conducts high-quality research and provides technical support to ongoing projects and training programs. It works on a broad range of human and animal infectious diseases, and clinical trials of new therapeutics and vaccines.
A clinical trial has been initiated to assess the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of a subcutaneous influenza drug in adult participants with uncomplicated influenza virus infection.
Position Description:
The Project Research Physician will report to the Study Physician/Assistant Scientist and will be mainly responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct clinical trials, including regular follow-up of enrolled cases and monitoring outcomes;
- Understand the research protocol and plan its monitoring and evaluation to control the quality of study work;
- Perform clinical trials following approved study protocols and biosafety standards;
- Ensure timely identification and notification of adverse/serious adverse events;
- Check the quality of data, specimens, and equipment used in the study;
- Develop a weekly plan following the study protocol on reviewing all records of enrolled study subjects;
- Prepare weekly updates detailing the quality of the study work done as per protocol and share them with the supervisor;
- Conduct eligibility assessments, the informed consent process, and enroll study participants;
- Conduct physical examinations and take other necessary measures to ensure the safety of participants at the facility;
- Provide training at the facility level on the treatment guidelines;
- Supervise data collection, specimen collection, time-to-time data compilation, and observe a certain percentage of interviews and specimen collections passively;
- Check all drugs and dispense them to patients;
- Supervise and support the Study Nurse, Field Supervisor, and other junior staff to ensure adherence to protocols and quality standards.
Required qualification and experience:
- MBBS degree from a Medical College recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council with one year of completed internship training and a valid BMDC registration.
- 1 Year working experience in the relevant field.
Location: Kamalapur & Mirpur, Dhaka.

Contract Type and duration:
- Short-Term; duration will be 06 months with a possibility of extension, subject to availability of funds and performance.
Salary & Benefits:
- Tk.66,390/-per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances; Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
