The Infectious Diseases Division conducts high-quality research and provides technical support to ongoing projects and training programs. It works on a broad range of human and animal infectious diseases, and clinical trials of new therapeutics and vaccines.

A clinical trial has been initiated to assess the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of a subcutaneous influenza drug in adult participants with uncomplicated influenza virus infection.

Position Description:

The Health Worker will report to the Field Research Assistant (FRA)/Field Research Supervisor, and will be responsible for supporting project implementation, including but not limited to –

• Visit field sites as per the supervisor’s plan;
• Support FRAs in collection and processing samples (Stool, Saliva, Urine, etc.) participants' homes;
• Accompany Study Nurses during household visits of the participants;
• Organize logistics support and frequently deliver supplies from the office to the field;
• Counsel and encourage participants for follow-up visits;
• Motivate community people to participate in the study and provide samples as per protocol (Blood, Saliva, Stool, Urine, etc.);
• Transport samples (Blood, Saliva, Stool, Urine, etc.) from the study site to the Centre;
• Bring study participants to the clinic for sample collection;
• Receive field-related complaints and escalate them to the supervisor;
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure quality implementation of the project.

Required qualifications and experience:

• S.S.C pass or equivalent;
• 2 years of experience in field research;
• Previous experience in working on maternal gestational weight gain will be preferred.

Location: Kamalapur & Mirpur Field Office, Dhaka.

Number of Positions: 16

Contract Type and Duration: 

• Short-Term; duration will be 06 months with a possibility of extension, subject to availability of funds and performance.

Salary & Benefits:

• Tk.29,308/-per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances; Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
