Surveillance Worker (Internal#62/2026)

The Parasitic & Vector-borne Infections Unit of the Infectious Diseases Division is conducting a study to evaluate the effectiveness and operational feasibility of Spatial Repellents for Aedes mosquito control in urban Dhaka.

Position Description:
The Surveillance Worker will report to the Field Research Officer and will be responsible for conducting door-to-door surveys for household listing, obtaining consent, enrolment, investigational product (IP) distribution, and installation in the Dhaka North and South City Corporations under the above-mentioned study. S/he will be involved in -

• Visit selected city corporation wards to conduct household listings and enrolment based on established criteria;
• Conduct regular household visits for IP distribution and installation;
• Collect data on socioeconomic status, Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices (KAP), and other Case Report Forms (CRFs) using an electronic data capture system;
• Obtain informed consent or assent from participants before each procedure;
• Maintain accurate records and data quality;
• Collect Dried Blood Spot (DBS) samples via finger prick;
• Maintain screening and visit logs;
• Engage with community members and ensure adherence to ethical research practices;
• Report daily activities to the Field Supervisor.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• HSC or equivalent;
• At least 1 year of experience in the relevant field.
• Good communication skills;
• Good technical knowledge and ability to use a Smartphone and Tab.

Location:Mohakhali, Dhaka 

Number of Positions: 20

Contract Type and Duration:

• Short-Term; duration will be 06 months with a possibility of extension, subject to availability of funds and performance.

Salary & Benefits:

• Tk.25,560/-per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances; Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
