Study Physician with Non-Communicable Diseases under the Nutrition Research Division (Internal#70/2026)

The Non Communicable Disease unit under the Nutrition Research Division conducts high-quality research on Non-Communicable Diseases. The NCD teams are committed to conduct extensive epidemiological investigations at the nexus between NCD, nutrition, environment, and infections across life course. The teams are also committed to develop innovations for strengthening primary healthcare services for NCDs, particularly for the vulnerable population in Bangladesh that are also relevant for other similar low-and middle-income countries.
Position Description:
The Study Physician will report to the the Principal Investigator. S/he will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
- Plan and implement research activities in urban and rural areas in collaborations with the government agencies and local hospitals as per the protocol;
- Ensure safe handling, transportation and storage of biological and environmental samples for laboratory testing as per various SOPs;
- Ensure quality of data collected from research settings and conduct regular quality assurance;
- Supervise, support and train team members on consent procedures, data collection, biological sample collection, and field ethics to ensure adherence to the protocol to meet quality standards set by the study;
- Ensure timely identification and notification of gaps, and provide insights from day-to-day clinical/research activities in order to resolve locally generated issues guided by the supervisor;
- Actively participate in developing multi component interventions as per the protocol and monitor planned interventions in collaborations with public and private stakeholders identified by the research investigators;
- Submit weekly activity reports to the supervisor and prepare team for obtaining high quality data;
- Conduct analysis of routine data in collaborations with investigators and other research team members for developing abstracts, reports, and manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications;
Required qualification and experience:
- MBBS degree with valid registration from Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council. A Master's degree in Public Health is preferable.
- At least 3 years of experience in the field of public health research; candidates with experience in Non Communicable Disease research will get preference.

Contract Type and duration:
- Short-Term; duration will be 6 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.
Salary & Benefits:
- Monthly Tk. 96,120/- (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances. Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
