Finance Officer with Emerging & Re-emerging Infections under the Infectious Diseases Division (Adv#84/2026)

icddr,b is a Bangladesh-based international health research institute committed to addressing key public health challenges through high-quality research and innovation.

The Programme on Emerging and Re-emerging Infections under the Infectious Disease Division undertakes a wide range of activities to address infectious disease challenges, including providing strategic and dynamic support to the Mycobacterial Disease Control (MBDC) Unit of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) to strengthen the country’s fight against Tuberculosis (TB). The support and solutions will focus on defined priority areas, including increasing TB case detection, decentralizing Drug-Resistant (DR)-TB management, improving the detection and management of childhood TB, expanding TB preventive services, strengthening private sector engagement in TB care, and other key interventions aligned with national TB control priorities.

Key Responsibilities 

The Finance Officer will report to the Senior Budget Coordinator. The major areas of responsibility include:

  • Prepare project budgets and financial proposals in accordance with program requirements while ensuring compliance with donor regulations, organizational policies, and applicable legal requirements;
  • Support in the budget approval process in RUPANTOR (organizational ERP system), forecasting, and expenditure monitoring;
  • Prepare grant financial report, including invoicing, monitor fund release from Donors, and payments to vendors;
  • Monitor partner fund disbursement and project costs;
  • Regularly share information on budget variance and spending status;
  • Communicate and coordinate with other program support units as and when necessary;
  • Conduct cost analysis and provide financial reports for decision-making and timely donor submissions.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Masters in Commerce or MBA (Major in Finance/Accounting) with good academic records;
  • 3 years of experience in the finance/accounts domain in a reputed organization.

Contract Type and duration:

  • Short-Term; duration will be 6 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.

Salary & Benefits: 

  • Monthly Tk. 66,040/- (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances. Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
