Senior Research Officer with Immunobiology, Nutrition & Toxicology under the Nutrition Research Division (Internal#94/2026)

The Immunobiology, Nutrition and Toxicology Laboratory conducts research on biomarkers and immune function in relation to infectious diseases, nutrition and environmental toxic exposures using cutting-edge technologies.

Key Responsibilities: 

The Senior Research Officer will report to the Project Coordinator and will be responsible for planning, organizing and implementing activities related to laboratory research. The major areas of responsibilities include:

• Develop new methods, optimize different laboratory processes for implementing research project and ensure quality assurance;
• Perform, optimize, and validate advanced immunological and biochemical assays, including ELISpot, ELISA, RT-PCR, and conventional PCR;
• Carry-out vaccine trials and clinical study-related laboratory activities, including assay standardization, validation, quality control, and documentation in accordance with GCLP standards;
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment (e.g., ELISPOT reader, RT-PCR systems, biosafety cabinets, CO2 incubators, centrifuges, ELISA readers), ensuring adherence to laboratory compliance including biosafety and security;
• Perform scientific analysis of data and write reports;
• Mentor and train junior laboratory personnel, interns, and research fellows in laboratory techniques, experimental design, data management, and research documentation;
• Provide inputs in developing research protocol and writing manuscript.

Required qualification and experience:

• M. Sc. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology/Microbiology;
• 5 years’ experience in the field of laboratory activities

Number of Position: 02 posts

Contract Type and Duration:

• Contractual Services Agreement basis (CSA); duration will be 6 months with a possibility of extension subject to performance.

Salary & benefits:

• Tk. 83,548/- per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;
• Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
