Field Research Supervisor (Internal#104/2026)

The IDD Special Activities focuses on infectious diseases of public health importance. The unit conducts research with particular focus on clinical/vaccine trials of new drugs and vaccines, antimicrobial resistance, and epidemiological studies.

Position Description:
The Field Research Supervisor will report to the Senior Research Investigator and will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising data collection work in the field, as per the project's needs with the objective of enabling smooth data collection and management within the project guidelines. The specific areas of responsibility include:

• Understand research protocol and data collection techniques from supervisor/PI; Receive training on data collection methods specific to the project;
• Conduct interviews with the participants/parents, keeping in liaison with them and plan their on-time visit according to the protocol; reimburse compensation/wage-loss to the participant as per the protocol
• Guide the field staff on completion of tasks, activities, reports and documentation. Motivate, train and counsel co-workers to ensure smooth implementation of the study/project.
• Check data accuracy; Supervise and monitor sample and data collection activities at the field site; Check and ensure quality of data in the field; Validate and observe a certain percentage of interviews.
• Perform field visits to solve problems in the field sites and conduct regular meetings with the staff at the field to ensure proper monitoring and supervision activities.
• Keep records of activities related to the study/project; Prepare various reports on project-related activities as advised by the supervisor/PI; Organize participant/patient files; Archive the source documents of the study as instructed by the supervisor; Organize and preserve different official papers and office records to maintain effective filing;
• Prepare and maintain inventory of field site; petty-cash handling
• Provide feedback to the supervisor on team members' performance to build and develop a high-performing team.

Required qualifications and experience:

• Master's degree with good academic records;
• At least 03 years of experience in the relevant field; preferably, those who have worked previously in drug trial projects.

Contract Type and Duration:

• Fixed Term; duration will be 01 year with a possibility of extension, subject to availability of funds and performance.

 
Salary & benefits: 

• Annual Salary of Tk.603,200/- inclusive of house rent, conveyance allowances and other admissible benefits, including provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children's allowance, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support, group life insurance, and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
