Field Attendant with Maternal and Child Nutrition under the Nutrition Research Division (Internal#110/2026)

The Experimental Medicine Platform (EMP-II) Project evaluates targeted interventions to improve maternal gut health, aiming to enhance birth outcomes and offspring health. Interventions include evidence-based, culturally acceptable food additives and probiotics. 

Position description and Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior Research Officer, the Field Attendant supports field implementation of EMP-II and research operations. Core responsibilities include:

• Conduct field site visits and strictly adhere to the study schedule;
• Collect, process, and transport biological specimens while ensure sample integrity and chain of custody;
• Guide participants through home visits, sample collection, and protocol-compliant medication administration;
• Manage and safely transport field supplies, materials, and liquid nitrogen tanks;
• Document and report field irregularities or protocol issues to the supervisor;
• Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless field operations.

• Minimum HSC or equivalent;
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the relevant field
• Previous experience in working on maternal gut health improvement in Matlab will be preferred

Duty Station: Matlab

Number of Position: 11 (Posts)
 

Contract Type and duration: Contractual Services Agreement basis (CSA); duration will be 3 months with a possibility of extension, subject to availability of funds and performance. 

• Tk. 19,800/- per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;
• Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
