icddr,b Staff Clinics provide health care outpatient services, both preventive and curative to all fixed-term national staff and their entitled dependents including spouse and children.

Staff nurse under Staff Clinic will be responsible to play a pivotal role to provide proper nursing care, carry out different nursing procedures, record vital signs ,counselling and intervention (vaccines , family planning methods), coordinate logistics & clinical apparatus for the Physicians during clinical examinations & carrying out procedures of patients with the objective of effective operation of the staff clinic within the guidelines of Staff Clinic services and organizational values and guidelines.

Position description 

Staff Nurse will report to Senior Staff Nurse. The position holder will receive, register, examine and provide treatment according to physician’s advice to the patients coming through the emergency and outpatient department for effective management of patients following icddr,b procedures.

The specific areas of responsibilities are detailed below:

• Receive sick employees and their entitled dependents attending to the Staff Clinic and record their vital signs;
• Enter and update system database with different data like vital signs, vaccination schedules;
• Carry out different nursing procedures, ECG of female and emergency patients; Identify danger symptoms and signs of patient & provide preliminary report to physicians;
• Enter information provided in self disclosure questionnaire and raise specific laboratory tests requisitions during Medical check-up & Antenatal Checkup(ANC) in system;
• Coordinate logistics and clinical apparatus for the Physicians during clinical examination and carrying out different procedures of patients.
• Liaison with external consultants, hospitals, clinics.

Requirements:

Education and Relevant Experience:

• Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery/BSc in Nursing from a recognized institution with valid registration from the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC);
  Minimum 3 years of professional experience;
• Strong patient-centered approach, demonstrating empathy, compassion, and respect;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• High standard of integrity, confidentiality and professional ethics.
• Effective teamwork and collaboration skills;
• Strong sense of accountability, punctuality and professional responsibility;
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintain patient safety;
• Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in emergencies and challenging situations;
• Proactive attitude, problem-solving ability and willingness to learn and adapt.

Contract Type and duration:

• Fixed Term; duration will be 2 Year with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.

Salary & benefits:

• Annual 792,480/-inclusive of house rent, conveyance, and other admissible benefits;
• 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.2,492/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance, and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
