The Mucosal Immunology and Vaccinology Unit (MIVU) under the Infectious Diseases Division focuses on studies to understand the systemic and mucosal immunology of diseases with natural infections, and on applying and extending these findings to better determine vaccine efficacy.

Position Description:

The Specimen Receptionist will report to the Medical Officer and will be mainly responsible for performing the following duties and responsibilities: 

• Collect data and specimens in accordance with approved study protocols and procedures.
• Obtain informed consent, screen and enroll eligible participants, and conduct participant follow-up activities.
• Collect, label, process, store, track, and maintain study specimens in accordance with established protocols.
• Handle and transport specimens safely while maintaining required storage and temperature conditions.
• Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of study reports and results within established turnaround times;
• Maintain accurate and complete study records, documentation, and sample-tracking logs.
• Implement approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) throughout all research activities.
• Maintain compliance with infection prevention and control measures, quality standards, confidentiality requirements, and study protocols.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to established procedures and timelines throughout the study activities.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma/BSc in Medical Laboratory Technology with good academic records.
• 3 years’ experience in a relevant field;

Number of Positions: 10

Contract Type and Duration:

• Short-term; duration will be 06 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.

 Salary & Benefits:

• Tk.41,522/-per month (consolidated), inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances; festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b, group life insurance, and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
